'Mob City' Anchored By 3 Big Sponsors

TNT’s upcoming limited drama series, “Mob City,” will be supported by three major sponsors: Acura, DirecTV and Sony Pictures.

As a part of its media plan, Acura will promote its Acura MDX model over two consecutive weeks in November with two custom minute-long on-air content messages. The special content will have behind-the-scenes of “Mob City.”

DirecTV will get in-show creative billboards, along with weekly tune-ins for the event -- highlighting the company’s new function allowing users to search for programming and schedule recordings by speaking into their mobile devices.

Sony Pictures will tout the premiere of the theatrical release “American Hustle,” to be released Dec. 13, with co-branded, on-air tune-ins.

The special three-week event is set to debut Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 9 p.m. “Mob City” will air in two-hour blocks over three consecutive Wednesdays (Dec. 4, 11 and 18).

“TNT's move to a year-round original programming schedule provides us a steady stream of diverse, high-quality sponsorship opportunities.” stated Frank Sgrizzi, executive vice president of Turner Entertainment ad sales and marketing.
