Sears Selling Off Lands' End

Sears Holdings Corp. is spinning off its Lands' End clothing business, as it tries to dump assets to stay afloat. The Hoffman Estates, Ill.-based company, operator of Sears department stores and the Kmart discount chain, has been sliding since hedge fund manager Eddie Lampert combined Sears and Kmart in 2005. Lampert, who picked up a tidy $38.4 million home in Miami last March, took over as chief executive in February.
