Ford's Alan Mulally As The Next Steve Ballmer? Could Be

Mulally watch has been a hobby for a while now, as Steve Ballmer is stepping down at Microsoft. Things are heating up as his replacement is said to be announced by month's end. But Ford board member Edsel Ford II said Mulally would be staying through the automaker until the end of 2014. So much for the Mulally-as-Microsoft-CEO rumor. But he's been a bit cagey on the subject. In any casem there's a good chance chief marketer Mark Fields will step into Mulally's place when he departs.
