How American Is 'American Made'?

A lot of products claim to be made here, but the label doesn't prove it. There is no vetting or certification process for guaranteeing that something is
made in the U.S.A. Guidelines, such as they are, say there is no specific language that manufacturers must use. “Made in the USA” and “American-made” are effectively the same.
