TWC Tosses Cruz Footballs In The Dark

Time Warner Cable is once again calling on its customers to help push New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz into the pro bowl.

A new video produced by the cable company shows Cruz, looking like an extra from “Tron” in an illuminated outfit, catching glow in the dark footballs against an entirely black backdrop. The video encourages fans to vote for Cruz to become a member of a Pro Bowl team via the hashtag #Vote4Vic.

This year’s effort, which will be promoted through Time Warner Cable’s social media channels, including Facebook and Twitter, follows a series of videos the cable provider launched last year to push the wide receiver to his first pro bowl.

Those videos showed Cruz catching footballs dropped from airplane and shot out of a cannon. The upshot: Cruz received 516,000 votes to be included in the game, the most of any wide receiver.

Cruz has also appeared in TWC’s “Enjoy Sports Better” advertising campaign, and in public service announcements touting the company’s “STEM in Sports” initiative. He also works with the company through its social media efforts and appearing on the cable operator’s local news channels.

The two Pro Bowl teams will be selected by captains in a fantasy draft on Jan. 22. The game will take place in Hawaii on Jan. 26. Time Warner representatives did not respond to inquiries by deadline.
