CW Dramas Binge On TVGN

Looking to give a boost to CW’s new dramas -- and push a little “binge” watching activity -- CBS will be re-airing all episodes of “The Tomorrow People,” “The Originals” and “Reign” on the TVGN cable network, where CBS has a co-ownership position.

The three shows will air on TVGN (formerly the TV Guide Network) back to back during all day long marathons: “Tomorrow People” will start on January 4; “The Originals,” January 11; and “Reign,” January 18.

"There is no better way to catch-up on great television than to binge every episode from the beginning of a series," stated Brad Schwartz, president of entertainment and media, TVGN.

The CW was one of the few broadcast networks that showed improved viewership in the 2013-2014 season so far. Looking at overall viewers through mid-December, CW grew 8% to 2.1 million viewers and 11% among 18-49 viewers -- now at 1.1 million.

In March 2013, CBS and Lionsgate Entertainment entered into a 50-50 joint venture to operate TVGN -- a deal worth $100 million. TVGN has some 77.3 million U.S. TV homes.

In 2013, TVGN averaged 163,000 viewers in prime time -- up 1% over the previous year.
