Heineken Charters Ad Complaint Review Board

  • December 27, 2004
Heineken USA has created a three-member "Independent Advertising Complaint Review Panel and Advisory Board" to consult with the company should its ads generate any controversy. The panelists, who began serving a one-year term on Dec. 1, are Geraldine Anne Ferraro, the 1984 vice presidential candidate and current head of the public affairs practice of The Global Consulting Group; Eva Kasten, founder of Noral Group International, an integrated marketing communications firm; and Dr. Robert T.M. Phillips, medical director of Forensic Consultation Associates, a national firm that specializes in psychiatric consultations in litigation.

"Having access to this panel of experts who herald from such professions as advertising, public policy and health care," said Frans van der Minne, president of Heineken USA, in a statement, "will provide us with one more avenue to fully address consumer concerns when and if they arise."

The company's ads are most often created by Publicis New York.
