Williams Abandons Mother For Publicis, Assumes Global Strategy Role

Dylan Williams, a partner at uber strategy shop Mother, is chucking his role as chief strategic officer there to take on a new global strategy role at Publicis Worldwide.

The move follows Publicis’ 2013 acquisition of strategy shop Poke in the U.K. and is part of an overall push to elevate strategic planning and innovation in Publicis’ mix.

Williams, who will serve as global chief strategy and innovation officer, will report directly to Publicis Worldwide CEO Arthur Sadoun.

“Dylan is one of the most recognized and successful planners in the industry,” Sadoun asserted in a statement announcing the hire early this morning.

Williams, who previously had a stint at BBH, added that he made the jump because he sees “something good is growing” at Publicis, but thanked “the guys at Mother and at BBH for nurturing me to a point where I feel ready for a step like this one.”
