Google Posts Privacy Fine On Its French Site

Google has been forced to post a privacy fine notice on the homepage of its French website. CNIL — the French regulatory body for data privacy laws — fined the search engine €150,000 last month for failing to warn users how their data is used. Google refused to meet the demand and launched an emergency appeal to France's highest appeals court, the Conseil d'Etat, which it quickly rejected.
