360i Revamps Top Management, Sarah Hofstetter Named Global CEO

Digital shop 360i, part of the Dentsu Aegis Network, has promoted Sarah Hofstetter to Global CEO. She succeeds Bryan Wiener, who will retain the title of chairman at the agency.

Previously, Hofstetter was U.S. CEO at the agency, a post that she stepped up to just last fall. Before that, she was president. She is credited with building the agency’s brand strategy, consumer insights, social media, influencer marketing and mobile practices from scratch, the shop indicated.

“No one grasps the challenge of marketing in today’s always-on, always-evolving world better than Sarah,” commented Wiener on the change in command. “She has been a driving force at 360i since she joined us in 2005, and over the years, she has been a partner in leading our agency’s ongoing success and evolution while strategically delivering new, innovative services to our clients.”

In the chairman’s role, Wiener will help direct 360i’s strategic partnerships and global expansion initiatives, while continuing his role as an advisor on broader Dentsu Aegis Network initiatives.

In addition to his role as 360i chairman, Wiener is taking on expanded duties at Expion, a social enterprise software company that is partly owned by Dentsu. Wiener now becomes chairman of that company, as well. He has been on the board and an advisor to the firm for two years, starting around the time Dentsu made its investment in the firm.

The Expion platform helps global brands, agencies and retailers to localize and manage their social-marketing efforts across thousands of users. It provides scalable enterprise-grade software to large companies, including HR Block, Applebee’s, AMC Theatres, 7-Eleven, Samsung, Barnes & Noble. Clients use Expion’s platform to analyze and share content  (among other functions) on Facebook and other social channels.

360i was widely recognized for its efforts in 2013, winning Agency of the Year honors from a number of publications including MediaPost’s OMMA.
