Univision: Revs Click In TV, Dial Down For Radio, Digital

Univision posted better TV revenue in its fourth-quarter 2013 period -- but radio and digital revenues dropped.

Television revenues were up 10% to $594.8 million, with radio sinking 8% to $81.6 million and digital revenues cut in half to $19.8 million from $39.6 million.

Total Univision revenues climbed 3.6% to $696.2 million during the period, and operating income inched up 2% to $296 million.

While digital revenues dropped, Univision says its digital advertising impressions grew 62% to 2.1 billion, while video advertising impressions were up 243% to 185 million compared to the fourth quarter of 2012.

Univision claims that in the fourth quarter, it was the fifth-most-watched TV network in prime time among 18-49 and 18-34 viewing groups, averaging a 1.49 million 18-49 viewers and 679,000 18-34 viewers. By way of comparison, NBC was the overall leader -- with some 3.9 million 18-49 viewers and 1.65 million 18-34 viewers.

For the full 2013 year, Univision had an 8% gain in revenue to $2.6 billion with operating income 12% higher to $1.12 billion.
