Latin music sensation Romeo Santos, also known as the "King of Bachata," is the latest to star in Dr Pepper's ongoing "One of One" ("/1") campaign, highlighting unique individuals.
Santos, the lone Latino in this year’s campaign, is featured in a 30-second ad that shows him walking through the Bronx neighborhood in which he grew up, discussing how the bachata music heritage inspired his own original sound.
The Santos Dr Pepper ad has generated more than 98,000 views on YouTube in under four days, since it was posted late on Feb. 14.
The online views were no doubt boosted by the spot's airing during Jan. 17's "The Bachelor" -- an episode during which Santos also made a guest appearance, serenading a couple with a song from his soon-to-be-released latest album on the Sony Music Latin label, "Formula Vol. 2."

The video/ad was also promoted on Dr Pepper's Twitter account and Facebook page.
Earlier in February, Santos’s hit “Odio,” featuring Drake, set a new record for number of downloads sold of a Spanish-language single during a single week, on Billboard's Latin Digital Songs chart.
Earlier ads in the 2014 extension of the "One of One" campaign featured YouTube video artist/entrepreneur Michelle Phan and hip-hop stars Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. Others running during the year will feature graffiti artist Retna, female bull rider Maggie Parker, and professional big-wave surfer Garrett McNamara.
