PubMatic To Launch SSP For Japanese Market

PubMatic, in conjunction with So-net Media Networks, this week announced it is launching a sell-side platform (SSP) tailored for Japanese publishers. The platform will be available starting May 14, 2014.

So-net Media Networks is part of the So-net Corporation and is a subsidiary of Sony. PubMatic first partnered with So-net earlier this year. It was through that partnership that PubMatic first brought its SSP to Japan, though until now it had not been tailored for the Japenese market.

The updated SSP will allow Japanese publishers to sell digital advertising in local Japanese currency and will have local time zone reporting, per a release.

"Japan is a burgeoning ad tech market. We are committed to continuing the expansion of our operations and developing our team in the market,” stated Rob Jonas, global chief revenue officer at PubMatic. “With a local data center and a team on the ground, we are looking forward to continuing to work closely with So-net Media Networks to support local publishers developing their business models and extend our services to local advertisers, DSPs and ad networks.”

PubMatic is committed to expanding its presence in the Japanese market; the company is also hiring in Tokyo.
