Second Engineer Leaves GM

General Motors engineering executive Jim Federico has retired. He is the second high-level engineer to depart in recent weeks. GM is shaking out its product development structure in the wake of its recall crisis. The 36-year GM veteran said he's leaving “to take on new engineering and design challenges outside of the auto industry,” according to an internal e-mail.
