The European Commission has published a series of recommendations to make online gambling services' advertising campaigns more socially responsible. The recommendations centred on banning unfounded
statements about chances of winning, the likelihood of resolving financial problems and ensuring no pressure to encourage gambling is applied. A recommendation is non-binding but is a way for the EC
to tell members what it expects them to do.
