Radio Rivals Unite In New DAB Licence Bid

Bauer, owner of Magic, and UTV, TalkSport owner, are to join forces with Arqiva to bid for a digital audio licence to broadcast ten new services. The licence was to be used by Channel 4 but it pulled out with the licence, expected to be awarded next year. Broadcast infrastructure business Arqiva owns the only current commercial DAB national licence which is up to capacity with fourteen stations. The new licence would bring a further ten national stations to the digital airwaves.
