Aldi Plans Huge UK Expansion

Aldi is to invest $600 million (pounds) in a major expansion drive in the UK, heaping further pressure on Tesco and the other Big Four grocers. The German-owned discount retailer says its biggest ever investment in Britain will see 60 stores open next year, along with ‘major refurbishment’ of existing shops and a regional distribution centre in Barnsley.
