Fox Sports, Sporting News Team For Web Network

Looking to ramp up its digital video presence for sports content, Fox Sports and Sporting News Media will partner in what the companies say is the “largest network of sports video on the Web.”

The digital platform, called “Fox Sports Digital - Sporting News Media,” in reference to comScore metrics, is targeting a minimum of 55 million digital sports fans per month.

The two entities will develop joint digital video programming and editorial content, as well as operating joint advertising sales. Both will also expand native advertising executions.

The two companies will share content and traffic, including, and Fox Sports Digital will also distribute and Fox Sports 1 video content on the Sporting News ePlayer platform.

While live sports programming continues to be the holy grail for many sports media platforms, the two companies say “the deal seizes upon an industry-wide trend of audiences increasingly complementing their live game broadcast and shoulder programming consumption with digital video across platforms and devices.”



Juan Delgado, chief executive officer of Sporting News Media, stated: “TV viewers... want to see game action they may have missed, get expert insight on what’s happening on-and-off the field, and to engage with their friends and fellow sports fans on social media.”

Fox Sports Digital includes, Fox Sports GO,,, and the digital businesses of Fox cable networks, including the 22 regional sports networks and Fox Deportes.
