Flipboard is almost ready to roll out video advertising on its popular social reading platform. “Fashion brand Chanel is confirmed as an initial advertiser,” The Next Web reports. At an
industry event, this week, Flipboard founder and CEO Mike McCue cited some Nielsen research, which found that advertising on Flipboard is more effective than TV ad spots. “That’s based on
the company’s existing static, full-page advertising,” TNW notes. “It will be interesting to see how video changes that engagement rate.”
