Can Marketers Trust Nofollow Online Content?

Julie Joyce is worried that webmasters think slapping on a nofollow piece of code to a link somehow relieves them of the need to be relevant and actually provide readers with a good resource. She believes this is a growing trend, and tells us about the 50 sites she encountered this week with advertising policies that state all links will be nofollowed, although the sites are more than willing to sell the links. They will sell a link without disclosure, she says. Joyce also contemplates whether this is a smart practice or one that may lead marketers down a path where they can't trust anything online.
