The Ad Sentiment Index

The Ad Sentiment Index (ASI) dropped to 94.7 Thursday, down nearly three points from 97.3 at the start of the week, and down sharply from its recent high of 105.3 on Sept. 3rd. The index was set at 100 when it launched on March 24.

Consumer sentiment is trending down among most traditional media, including radio, newspapers, outdoor and TV, but is gaining among magazines. With the exception of mobile (which has fallen precipitously to an index of 88.0) and Facebook (down to 91.2), most digital media are on the upswing, especially Internet, search, Twitter and Instagram, which are all well above 100.
