MDC-owned media agency, Assembly, named Paul Beck as executive vice president, director of strategic services, a new position. In this role, Beck will build and lead a strategy unit comprised of
analytics, traditional media research, social media and holistic communications strategy. He will report to Jeff Brooks, chief commercial officer at Assembly. Beck initially will lead a team of 25,
but the group is expected to double in size over the next 6-12 months. The team will be responsible for upstream work such as research/strategy, intellectual property, trends and insights, in addition
to downstream work like reporting, measurement and optimization. Beck joins Assembly from Attention Partners, an MDC-owned social media agency, where he served as chief operating officer. While there
he worked with clients including Mattel, Sport Authority, Target, Novartis, American Express, Morgan Stanley, Mead Johnson, Samsung and Dunkin Donuts, among others. Before Attention Partners, Beck was
vice president of audiences & engagement at LBI & MRY where he oversaw the social media, search, paid media and analytics teams handling clients including Disney, CBS Films, Johnson &
Johnson, McNeil Consumer Healthcare and Reckitt Benckiser. "I think you'll find that Paul's background is unique for the top strategy role at a media agency," Brooks said. "In fact, I love that he
doesn't look like your typical media strategy or research guy because we're not your typical media agency. Paul is fascinated by connections and ultimately that's where great insights are found. We're
fortunate to have him join our leadership team.
