StrawberryFrog Names Agency Vet Chris Perkins Managing Director

StrawberryFrog is heading into 2015 with new day-to-day manager.  The agency, which is owned by the APCO Worldwide group, has hired ad-marketing veteran Chris Perkins as Managing Director. He succeeds agency Founder Scott Goodson in the day-to-day management role while Goodson retains the CEO position.

In addition to managing the agency Perkins will oversee clients and be responsible for agency growth. Also he will work closely with APCO Worldwide on key initiatives, including the agency's global work for the government of Albania.

Perkins will also be responsible for putting together the shop’s 2015  business plan and presenting it to the StrawberryFrog board. In February 2012, APCO, the PR firm, acquired a controlling stake in the ad agency.

"As we celebrate the close of our 16th year, I wanted to make sure we had a talented, thoughtful person in place that creates deeper strength for the company as we look ahead to 2015 and beyond," said Goodson. "Chris is a proven manager and brilliant and innovative marketer."

Previously, Perkins was EVP at Havas Group’s Arnold Worldwide before being named president and CEO of Blitz Media. He also served as CMO of Brand USA earlier in the Obama Administration.

Over his career, he was responsible for the Brown-Forman business, and worked with brands such as Jack Daniels globally, Southern Comfort, Dove and Chrysler ‘s Jeep division.

This hire was the result of personal connections. Goodson says he has known and admired Chris for over a decade, and was first introduced via Cindy Gallop who used to partner with Kevin McKeon at BBH New York. McKeon is on the board and a partner of StrawberryFrog.
