Former JWT San Francisco and Visa marketing executive Kevin Burke has joined Square. Burke will oversee the acquisition of merchant customers for the brand as well as Square's retail, web and event marketing. 

Of joining Square, Burke said, "Square is transforming the way people buy and sell around the world. I'm really excited to join Square as they continue to deliver on their promise to make commerce easy while helping independent businesses thrive."

Burke will also support Square's continual foray into credit and debit card payments, sales and inventory tracking, small business finance and gift cards.
