Harte Hanks Acquires 3Q Digital

Harte Hanks announced the acquisition of 3Q Digital Monday, one of the last major search engine marketing digital agencies in Silicon Valley.

3Q Digital founder David Rodnitzky said several companies have been courting his agency for the past six months. "We did not seek out partners they looked for us," he said. "Harte Hanks ranked high on the list."

The addition of search engine marketing to Harte Hanks' traditional marketing services like direct mail, email marketing, and customer support call centers will round out the off- and online portfolio.

Rodnitzky plans to remain with the company, leading digital endeavors. "I have a lot more to accomplish here," he said. "Companies are looking to bring together media channels that remain in silos. It's an opportunity to become a more comprehensive company."

For example, brands with a large email customer base can use that email list to create customer audiences in Facebook, run display advertisements, and even combine it with direct mail. Many of 3Q Digital's clients, which are Internet businesses, run successful offline campaigns, he said.

3Q Digital grew annually by more than 40% each year since being founded in 2008, and supports companies such as SurveyMonkey and Symantec. The company grew to 100 employees in 2014, and acquired iSearchMedia in 2015. The company manages about $300 million digital marketing spend.
