Earlier this year, Havas Media Group announced it was teaming with Universal Music Group to launch the Global Music Data Alliance and with NewsCred's content marketing platform to manage licensed content from over 5,000 global publishers.
Now, the network is naming Damien Marchi as Global Head of Content to oversee these new alliances and help the agency manage its expanding array of content.
"On the one hand, business models in the industry are being seriously challenged and on the other hand, people have never had such a thirst for content," says Marchi. "It’s an exciting time to be on the agency side – the historic meeting-place of stories, brands, platforms and producers. And with content at its core since its creation in 1835, Havas has all it takes to become the best of the industry.”
In line with the Group’s “Havas Village” approach to promote integration between its divisions, Marchi will work closely with Lucien Boyer, Global CEO of Havas Sports & Entertainment and Vin Farrell, Global Chief Content Officer for Havas Worldwide. He will be based at Havas Paris headquarters and report directly to Dominique Delport, Global Managing Director Havas Media Group.
Marchi has over 15 years of experience specializing in cross platform content production, commercialization and marketing in TV and digital, across entertainment, drama and news. Prior to joining Havas, Damien was a member of the executive committee of Euronews, the most watched news channel in Europe, in charge of Innovation and Products. He has led digital adaptations for shows such as The X Factor, Got Talent, American Idol (FremantleMedia), Big Brother and Star Academy (Endemol), as well as working with brands such as RedBull, Air France, P&G and L’Oréal.
