House Passes Cyber Security Bill

The House has passed a cyber security bill in response to the large number of data breaches in the private sector. Data breaches at Home Depot, Sony and Target were among the examples mentioned in the hearing. If passed into law, the policy would require all companies to notify consumers if their financial data is exposed. House legislators across the aisles supported the bill which passed 307 to 116. The Senate is next up to vote.
