R2integrated Acquires Make Me Social

Full-service agency R2integrated is acquiring digital shop Make Me Social from the CMS Group. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Make Me Social will fold into the r2i brand and name, and with the acquisition, the combined agency will expand into a larger New York office. Make Me Social’s Chief Revenue Officer, Mike Riley, will serve as President of the new r2i New York City office.

R2i executives were attracted to Make Me Social’s strong New York City presence and team of highly specialized marketers. R2i now has the ability to "scale high demand services to previously untouched markets," per the agency.

Launched in 2009, Make Me Social creates social and content strategies, cross-channel campaigns, and engagement programs. The 20-staff agency works with a range of clients in industries such as financial services, retail, non-profit, and media, including Envestnet, Thomas & Betts, Triboro Quilt Manufacturing and Summit Golf Brands.

The Make Me Social team is also experienced with marketing technology platforms such as HubSpot, Tableau and Marketo, adding to r2i’s capabilities in cloud-based solutions.

“Make Me Social has been a nimble team with a focus on social and content for six years,” says Riley. “We’ve done a great job growing the business in these channels and are thrilled to be joining a full-service agency. We can take advantage of r2i’s expertise with the digital marketing cloud, an area that our clients have been clamoring for. Joining r2i allows us to offer complete, integrated, digital marketing solutions.”

The deal follows r2i ’s recent acquisition of CatapultWorks, growing the agency to over $40 million in revenue and 200 employees, with offices in Silicon Valley, New York City, Seattle, and Baltimore/Washington, D.C.

The agency, which is backed by ORIX Mezzanine & Private Equity, offers professional services and technology products including social/digital marketing strategy and programs, social/consumer data analysis, content strategy and content distribution technology, and reporting and analytics. R2i clients include Microsoft, Under Armour, MasterCard, University of Michigan, and Hershey’s.
