Microsoft veteran Donald Thompson recently took his search company out of stealth mode, introducing Maana to the masses. It appears that the technology supports searching through
large data sets. The company last week announced an $11 million funding round to fuel development. Investors, which pushed funding to $14 million, include Chevron Technology Ventures,
ConocoPhillips Technology Ventures, Frost Data Capital, GE Ventures, and Intel Capital, according to GeekWire.
