Nathan Phillips Is The New Chief Creative Officer at Narrative

New York-based ad shop Narrative, has tapped Nathan Phillips to be its Chief Creative Officer, a new role designed to strengthen the agency’s interactive and experiential brand activations across platforms.

Phillips’ eclectic resume includes work as a creative director, filmmaker, comedian and author. He also collaborated on interactive storytelling projects at The Whitney, Museum of Modern Art and Museum of Contemporary Art.

“At our core, we are a group of storytellers,” said Narrative cofounder and CEO Tricia Clarke-Stone. “With Nathan’s innovative thinking and experience, we can expand our capabilities and really bring ‘The Narrative Experience’ to life through new technology and traditional engagement methods.”

Phillips began his career as a comedian, which led to an array of writing and directing projects. Most recently, at agency Noise, he created interactive and experiential work for brands like Intel and Unilever, as well as the interactive documentary {The And}, which was screened at both the Tribeca and Sundance film festivals and won the World Press Photo Prize. Earlier at SS+K, Phillips worked on digital and TV campaigns for Obama 2012, the AFL and Kraft.

Narrative’s other co-founder is the business magnate Russell Simmons. The agency counts among its clients Under Armour, Universal Pictures, Samsung and Coty. The shop’s core competencies include technology, product development, experiential marketing, digital and social media.
