Netflix Beats Q2 Expectations, Adds 3.28M Worldwide

Netflix exceeded subscription growth estimates for the second quarter, adding 3.28 million members around the world for a total of 65 million. It gained 900,000 subscribers in the U.S. 

The Financial Tmes said shares increased 9% in after-hours trading after Netflix announced its second quarter results.

Its shares jumped more than 9% to $107.67 in after-hours trading in New York. The stock price has doubled this year.

On revenue fo $1.64 billion (slightly less than predicted), net income fell to $26m, or 6 cents a share, from $71m, or 16 cents a share, a year ago. Wall Street street had expected just a 4 cents per share gain.
