Based on user reviews from about 850 email marketers, the updated GridSM report ranked 18 products to help purchasers. In order to be included in the grid, each product had to have received 10 or more reviews.
Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Mailchimp tied for overall satisfaction in the crowdsourced report. Constant Contact, iContact and dotmailer were all named Leaders as well, with large market presences and strong customer satisfaction scores.
G2 Crowd also segmented the reviewers by size: Small businesses with 50 or fewer employees found leaders in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, MailChimp, iContact and dotmailer. Mid-market businesses, with up to 1,000 employees, found Salesforce and Constant Contact to be Best of Breed. Enterprise businesses, with more than 1,000 employees, voted Salesforce and Oracle Responsys as leaders in the field.
Based on short answer responses, reviewers wanted more specialized features like A/B split testing, but were willing to sacrifice robust features for affordability.
On average, reviewers were 84% likely to recommend the product they used to someone else. Ease of business and quality of support received similarly high approval ratings, with excellent customer service often being cited as the primary reason for a high review.
