Wait, What? Barton F. Graf 9000 Just Got A Design Director?

Call me crazy but it's pretty clear design is an integral component of every ad agency's creative element. Am I right or am I right? It seems, though, that Barton F. Graf 9000 just got the memo as they've just hired their first-ever head of design.

The agency has hired Roger Bova as Head of Design. Bova come to BFG 9000 from Anomaly where he was design director on Budweiser and Diego among others. He began his career as Art Director at Plexifilm, an independent DVD label with a focus on music, art and foreign films. He opened his own studio, Roger&Co, in 2007, and worked with a variety of unique clients, design firms and ad agencies, some of which included Arnell Group, Rockstar Games, Abrams Books, and A Public Space literary magazine.

Of the hire, Gerry Graf said, “You cannot be an elite creative agency without great design. Roger and his team will give us just that. I’m looking forward to Roger making all of our work even better as we continue to offer different creative solutions to our clients.”

Gerry, you guys rock. It seems you've done quite well without a design director. Good to know you've come to the realization that design is an integral component of an elite creative agency.
