Coldwell Banker Campaign Hails 'Halloween,' Happiness, Home

What makes a house a home? Some would say family, holidays and traditions. Coldwell Banker Real Estate is banking on all three of those ideas to stand apart from the crowd with “Halloween,” a commercial set to air on TV networks.

It is part of a series of commercials begin airing on Sept. 13 and will run through October on national networks including A&E, Discovery Channel, NBC, Nick at Nite and TLC.

Created by AOR Siltanen & Partners and directed by Kat Coiro, under the direction of Rob Siltanen, executive creative director, the :30 spot is narrated by a mother who shares her fond memories of Halloween. She reminisces that her home was filled with cupcakes and costumes, fun and laughter.

She then shares the way she is making memories with her family now and her dedication to dressing up the house for her kids. Voiceover at the end: “This is where traditions are born. This is home. Coldwell Banker. Where home begins.”

“As a child, and later as a parent, Halloween always meant a special time of year,” CMO Sean Blankenship tells Marketing Daily. “Our home always seemed to be the place where we gathered with friends and family, dressed up in our favorite super hero costumes, and counted all the candy in our pillow cases to see who collected the most. This is our way of celebrating the traditions and memories of millions of families.”

Coldwell Banker chose Halloween and early fall for the spot because it didn’t want to get lost in the holiday mix around Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The company says it is the oldest national real estate brand and franchisor in the United States.
