While one former Ad Age Editor, Scott Donaton, is off finding himself at Burning Man, another, Abbey Klaassen, is applying herself. How? After a year with Dentsu Aegis as director of
corporate strategy development, Klaassen will shift over to Dentsu Aegis unit 360i as that agency's chief marketing officer.
Of joining 360i, Klaassen said, "When 360i Chairman Bryan
Wiener and CEO Sarah Hofstetter approached me, it seemed like a great opportunity to join a brand that is perfectly positioned for where the industry is headed. 360i has always been in the business of
evolving itself as the industry has shifted -- starting with search and social, and recently, taking on media and integrated AOR accounts for brands that want a digitally led approach. It's not afraid
of change and, in fact, its ability to address change has been one of its defining characteristics. So that's a pretty cool place to be at a time when there's so much disruption in the industry."
Klaassen will oversee the shop's marketing, public relations and business development and will report to Hofstetter. Hofstetter had nothing but admiration for Klaassen, saying: "Abbey has
proven she is a strategic thinker, a skilled marketer and a tremendous communicator with a track record for driving growth in a disruptive market. We are thrilled to have her join our leadership team
to help propel our ongoing growth and expansion as the industry increasingly demands digitally centric marketing leadership."
