'People' Unveils PeopleStyle News Hub

Style and beauty addicts are getting a new supplier courtesy of People magazine, which has launched a new style news destination called PeopleStyle with online and print components.

PeopleStyle.com will publish round-the-clock breaking style news with a focus on video content, while the social component, @People_Style, will connect with style lovers via Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

PeopleStyle launches with a new daily video show, “StyleTrax,” which delivers a three-to-five minute roundup of style every afternoon, and recurring shows including “Fashion Flashback,” “Stuff Models Know” and “How It’s Done,” among others. On the print side, People will include a weekly PeopleStyle feature.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, Time Inc. is planning an e-commerce program as part of People StyleWatch, including retail content.

It should be noted that PeopleStyle is distinct from People StyleWatch, the monthly print magazine affiliated with the celebrity weekly, which will continue to publish as before. Both PeopleStyle and People StyleWatch are part of Time Inc.’s Style Network, along with StyleWatch companion site TheOutfit.com, targeting millennials with “street style” and shopping suggestions.

People StyleWatch recently completed a redesign with a new look and editorial approach, including interactive content in its print edition through an integration with Blippar. Readers who download the Blippar app can use their mobile devices to scan “Blippable” pages in the magazine to unlock additional digital content.

Earlier this year, Time Inc. launched Mimi, site that aggregates fashion-related content from social media and the Web. The site draws on content from Time Inc. properties as well as other sources, and also features original content from its own team of writers.
