Iconic men’s magazine Esquire has published its 1000th issue this week, and is celebrating by unveiling a massive digital archive, called Esquire Classic, which contains every issue, cover, story, image, cartoon, and advertisement it has published from 1933 to today, the magazine announced this week. Esquire Classic contains over 50,000 stories from American literary legends including Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Norman Mailer, Nora Ephron, Gay Talese, Tom Wolfe, David Foster Wallace, and Stephen King. A new partnership using Shazam’s visual recognition technology enables readers to use their mobile devices to connect directly from the print magazine to Esquire’s coverage within the new digital archive.
