Tourism A Peacemaker In Colombia?

The United Nations World Tourism Organization General Assembly was just held in in Medellin, Colombia. That would have been too dangerous a few year ago.  Speaking at the conference, Cecilia Alvarez-Correa Glen, the nation's minister of commerce, industry and tourism, said tourism gets the credit for turning around the host city, once “the most violent city in the world.” WTO Secretary-General Taleb Rifai said Medellin represents how tourism can revitalize a destination.
