Over 6,500 people attended Essence’s second annual Street Style Block Party & Awards, which took place in Brooklyn on September 13, the Time Inc. publication announced this week. The daylong celebration in honor of New York Fashion Week featured music, food, fashion, art, and shopping, including appearances by actress Gabrielle Union, a Street Style fashion show hosted by singer Mel B., and a performance by R&B singer Andra Day. The Street Style Awards dinner honored fashion bigs including Ciara, Union, fashion designer Charles Elliott Harbison, and celebrity stylist Jason Rembert, among others.
