GM Planworks, a General Motors-dedicated media planning unit within Starcom MediaVest Group, is promoting
MARY CARPENTER to executive vice president/chief operating officer of the
company. Carpenter currently oversees all operational aspects of the company, including human resources, finance, systems, internal product development, and the organization’s continuing best
practices initiative. Carpenter began her career in 1987 as a buyer/planner at Starcom USA for Procter & Gamble, Starkist, Heinz, and Hallmark before taking over the agency’s Oldsmobile account.
