Google Uses Neural Nets To Improve YouTube Thumbnails

Google has been using neural networks to teach algorithms to improve thumbnails generated in YouTube. Weilong Yang and Min-hsuan Tsai from Google's Video Content Analysis team explain what happens when users do not upload custom thumbnails to accompany a YouTube video and how the technology generates the images.
