BURST! Backs Blogs' Potential

Ad network BURST! Media waxed innovative yesterday, launching a blog-focused sub-channel, which allows online marketers to place ads on the 22 blogs within BURST!'s network. BURST! says its network generates 9 million monthly page-views. In addition to the group of Gawker Media blogs, their group includes BlueLemur, 2WallsWebzine, and CelebCourthHouse.

Cell phone maker Kyocera Wireless has signed on as the first advertising customer, and BURST! says it has other clients looking to add blogs to their mix of upcoming buys. Most ads sold to BURST!'s blogs will be priced by cost per thousand impressions, but some advertisers may choose cost-per-click, depending on the nature of the creative. Also, BURST! allows advertisers to target their ads to blogs by content type, geographical area, and even time of day.
