Google, Facebook Look For Valhalla In India

Internet giants are banging at India's door. Google CEO Sundar Pichai recently addressed a ballroom in Delhi, to say that over the next three years Google will give the Internet to 300,000 villages across India. The nation will have 426 million users online by June 2016, making it the second biggest in the world, greater than the U.S., even though internet penetration in the country of 1.2 billion is less than 20%. No wonder Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella have visited India and met prime minister Narendra Modi. Zuckerberg has met Modi twice and hosted him at Facebook headquarters.
