Downton Abbey Producer, Comcast, Rumoured To Be Lining Up ITV Bid

The future of ITV is once again up in the air rather than on it after renewed speculation that another U.S. cable company is being linked with a bid for Britain’s largest terrestrial commercial broadcaster. Comcast, the owner of NBCUniversal, is reported to be weighing a bid, with reports that the two have held talks. It is the second time this year that a US media company has been linked with ITV — Liberty Global, the cable company that owns Virgin Media, has built a 9.9% stake. ITV would not comment.
