George Coleman Named Publisher Of Lebanon Publishing Co.

George Coleman has been named publisher of Lebanon Publishing Co., after serving as interim publisher since September.

According to Doug Phares, president of the Tennessee-based company, Coleman will also take on the role of vice president of Lebanon Publishing Co. beginning Jan. 1.

Lebanon Publishing oversees The Lebanon Democrat, Mt. Juliet News and Hartsville Vidette, with Sandusky Newspaper Group the parent company.

Coleman told Publishers Daily via email that he looks forward to building on Lebanon Publishing’s print, digital, and social media.  He called the company's locale, Wilson County, a “vibrant and growing market” and said Lebanon Publishing will provide local coverage in the “medium of choice for our consumers.”

“By doing this, we will have the best marketing vehicles for local companies to reach their best customers,” Coleman added.

According to its Wikipedia page, The Lebanon Democrat is the primary daily newspaper in Wilson County, with a total subscriber base of around 9,500.

While serving as interim publisher this fall, Coleman was also the publisher of Sandusky's Jonesborough Herald & Tribune and major account manager for Sandusky Newspaper Group’s Tennessee publications. He will continue his responsibilities with major accounts for the group.
