The online representation firm Playwire Media specializes in targeting gaming and entertainment enthusiasts, which will help expand the reach of Gateway Media, a St. Louis-based publishing house with a portfolio that includes entertainment and culture wWeb sites like CinemaBlend and Oola!
Gateway Media wants to reach more than 100 million unique monthly visitors, 500 million unique monthly page views, and 3 billion monthly ad impressions with the help of online video.
Gateway Media is likely hoping for a repeat of a previously successful partnership between its CinemaBlend brand and Playwire Media.
Playwire Media created a custom video strategy to maximize ad impressions and revenue for CinemaBlend, which saw a 345 percent increase in monthly revenue from online video.
Gabe Douek, CEO of Gateway Media, called it an “outstanding campaign.”
Jayson Dubin, CEO of Playwire Media, stated that the expansion of their partnership with Gateway Media helps their network grow “to allow advertisers to reach new demographics.”
Playwire will create optimized, multichannel campaigns for all current and future Gateway Media publishing brands. The company will use high impact custom ad units and develop digital video for Gateway’s different brands.
Earlier this month, Gateway Media acquired Tickld, a Toronto-based Web site that specializes in popular viral content. The acquisition brings the total number of Gateway’s brands to 13, including sites like Suggest, Clip’d, Swifty and YesPets.
In June, Gateway Media closed on a $40 million credit facility. According to a report, Douek suggested the company will target sports websites to add to Gateway’s portfolio.Playwire Media’s digital entertainment sites comprises a large roster of more than 70 brands. Their three publishing titles include GameZone Group, NowPlaying Entertainment and Kids Club.
