Put On Your 'AHHH Face'

In recognition of Home Alone’s 25th anniversary and its place as a holiday classic, 20th Century Fox and its agency TVGla are introducing the "Ahhh" social media campaign leveraging the iconic image where Kevin McCallister (played by Macaulay Culkin) puts his hands on his face and screams "ahh."

As part of the initiative, fans can visit the ‘Give ‘Em the AHHH Face’ Meme Generator to pick a background and write a quick Meme on the image around the actor’s face and then download or share that image. There is also the Home Alone GIF keyboard app available on iTunes

The agency also developed short videos called “Home Alone Moments” supported with the #HAMoments hashtag that are being shared across Facebook. The initial video had more than 25,000 likes and 500,000 video views in three days.

The concept is designed to ignite the interest of the film’s fan base around this milestone anniversary in a way to can resonate across all age groups.

“We are really impressed with how powerful this 25-year-old movie is on social media and the fact that fans are drawn to engage with it on Facebook and other platforms,” says Brian Pettigrew, president of TVGla. “We have been able to create a lot of easy-to-digest, shareable content that is driving millions of impressions and views on the Facebook page alone, all without the benefit of paid media.”

TGVla has worked with 20th Century Fox since 2007. This summer the two companies teamed up for a promotion supporting the DVD release of the Nakatomi Plaza: Die Hard Collection.
