Egyptian authorities have pulled the plug on Facebook’s free Internet service, known in some regions of the world as Free Basics. “It was not immediately clear why the program was
halted,” The Associated Press reports. “The service, which is aimed at users in developing countries, connects a billion people worldwide, providing free health, education, and economic
information.”
