"The move to 909 is an important one for IPG," said Michael Roth, Chairman and CEO, Interpublic. "We've made open-architecture a key principle at IPG, where agencies collaborate seamlessly on behalf of shared clients. Co-locating with a number of our brands is a showcase for how this collaborative and open culture is an ongoing part of our company's DNA.”

Roth also said the move would accrue “significant cost savings for our company over the next 12 years," adding over three-quarters of all refuse and electronics in the new space will be recycled.

909 Third Avenue has been designated a LEED-Silver Certified Building. The company's building management (Vornado) has also launched a trademarked Energy Information Portal, a tool that enables tenants to monitor their energy usage.

IPG said it recently became the first U.S.-based ad holding company to sign on to the U.N. Global Compact, a sustainability initiative.
