Yahoo Canada Partners With Soho Media Solutions For Event-Triggered Ads

Yahoo Canada is partnering with Soho Media Solutions' advertising platform, InGame.Ad, to display digital ads triggered by real-time events across Yahoo properties in Canada.

Under the new deal, Yahoo Canada can display rich-media ads triggered by real-time data like sporting events, financial market indices and the weather. Other triggers includes tweets (so brands can sponsor news through an account) and video uploads (so publishers can display video content from YouTube and others). 

Soho Media Solutions' clients include NHL broadcaster TVA Sports, Canadian newspaper La Presse and several print titles.

Meanwhile, Yahoo is reportedly looking to cut 10% of its workforce, and its core ad business is struggling.Earlier this month, Yahoo shuttered its much-vaunted video portal, Screen.
